Internal Red Cross-Red Crescent Movement is the largest volunteer based humanitarian organization in the world. The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), a national society of the Movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President’s Order No. 26 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971, is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the Government, the BDRCS provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable populace and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/Red Crescent ideals and principles.
Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) in collaboration with ICRC, introduced the CHT-WASH Project in Khagrachari in 2016 and later in Bandarban and Rangamati under Community Development (CD) Department. Set up of household based hygienic latrine, and installation of deep and shallow tube-wells and repairing of tube-wells are being part of the project as hardware component. Besides, hygiene promotion activities including PHAST (Participatory Hygiene Promotion Training) and CHAST (Child Hygiene and Sanitation Training) at community and school level are also important part of the project.
Currently BDRCS is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position under it’s CHT WASH Project:

Job Nature:Contractual
Duration of contract:1 Year (with possibility of extension)
Salary range :BDT. 35,000/-.
Age limit:Upto 36 years
Duty station:Rangamati Red Crescent Unit Office.
Job Purpose:Plan, design and implement WASH activities in Rangamati under CHT-WASH Project in collaboration with BDRCS (Program Coordinator, CHT-WASH, CD Dept.) and ICRC (WatHab Team), through unit office.
Job Responsibilities
Specific:
Assist Program Coordinator, CD Dept., BDRCS NHQ in overall management of field programmatic and operational activities, capacity building, reporting, documentation and others on WASH issues.
Prepare unit wise implementation plan in consultation with BDRCS NHQ (CD Dept.) and ICRC Dhaka (WatHab team).
Take part to select new communities for WASH related hardware and software services through community consultation.
Organize and implement KAP (baseline and end line) survey prior to and end of project implementation.
Take lead to testing of water during and after installation of water sources/services at different communities.
Prepare beneficiary/household list for latrines and facilitate site selection, imparting orientation on construction.
Prepare plan for the delivery of required latrines’ materials for households/community and prepare technical specifications/BoQ for tendering process if needed.
Quality checking of latrine construction and water sources (tube well) installation works through direct supervision at community level.
Organize and facilitate local level different events e.g. meeting, workshop, training, day observations etc.
Follow-up Hygiene Promotion Organizer and Hygiene Promoters about their works related to community meeting, PHAST/CHAST session, phase-out as well as monthly CDC meeting at different communities.
Manage staff, beneficiary and community leaders, local contractors/service providers for WASH and DM intervention at community level.
Responsible for field data collection and management as per need, case story preparation and programmatic and financial report preparation.
Conduct regular field visit to supervise field staff and to see the progress of the project activities as per plan and share with PC at NHQ.
Follow the deadline and submission of all reports/bill-voucher/other documents to BDRCS NHQ (PC) through Unit Level Officer (ULO).
Assist BDRCS and ICRC management to conduct different field assessment works/ perform any other task as per need and guidance of PC and other senior management of BDRCS.
General:
Maintain regular coordination with Secretary & Convener and members of PIC including ULO for effective implementation of project.
Maintain regular coordination with BDRCS CD Dept. (PC) and ICRC (WatHab team) at NHQ and Unit/field level.
Supervise staff at Unit and community level.
Maintain regular and periodic communication with local stakeholders like community leaders, NGOs, other like mind agencies, GO or local government authorities (DPHE, District/Upazila/Union/Pourashava office) for administrative and programmatic purposes.
Job Requirements
Education and experience:
4-year Graduation (Masters is preferred) in relevant subject e.g. Public Health / Social Science / Engineering.
At least 04 (four) years work experience in humanitarian/development sector in WASH and DRR related activities.
Experience on project planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Project reporting (monthly, quarterly and yearly) and manage field administration and documentation system.
Case story preparation and take part in other relevant survey and assessment works.
Experience in organizing and facilitating sessions, meeting, training/workshop especially at field.
Working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team will be given a priority.
Skills & abilities:
Be a good team player
Have analytical skills and ability to think strategically
Able to plan and work independently with minimum supervision and have to work under pressure with deadline.
Capable to communicate with stakeholders including ethnic/tribal communities and be familiar to their culture etc.
Must have computer operation both in English and Bangla (Bijoy software), communication (oral and written), internet navigation capacity and also have knowledge/experience in operating software i.e. AutoCad (preferable), MS-Word, Excel, PowerPointetc. is must.

Commitment to the Red Cross and Red Crescent principles and values.
Be honest, transparent and high level of integrity.
Must be race, gender and ethnic sensitive.
Willing to work for vulnerable, ethnic, minority, conflict and any disaster emergencies with different types of people/culture/content if needed.
Must have valid motorbike driving license and willingness to move around remote villages/ communities in Rangamati.
